Chaos Reigns

Join us at Babycastles in NYC on Saturday, March 18 for a discussion about what we’re already thinking about too much: chaos, media, and our role in all of it

Political crises now seem at once unbelievable and extremely “on the nose.” Our newsfeeds confront us with outrages all too predictable in their outlandishness, seeming to come at us with unprecedented speed yet yielding a surreal slow-motion reorganization of the same bad normal.

Staying informed seems more necessary than ever, yet it has come to feel counterproductive or even unhealthy — provoking fatigue, despair, apathy, and complicity rather than a clear way forward. Too much feels true, let alone possible.

How do we retain our bearings when we’re awash in breaking-news alerts, real-time updates and reactions buzzing in our pockets? Are our everyday technologies disrupting any shared sense of what is true? Do we even want to preserve truth and order as we’ve known it?

Join us and think more on what you’re already thinking about too much.
